about
My name is Michelle and I have been a domestic sewer for many years. It is a hobby that is complemented by my interest in crafts, paper arts and my love of creation, using anything I have on hand. Through the years, I have informally taught sewing and crafts and have sewn garments and soft furnishings for family and friends.
In a step of faith, I started my own sewing business. Sewing gives me the opportunity to bless my community with the skills I have, and foster the growth and joy of domestic sewing, as well as upholding the traditions in what is seen by some as a dying trade.
Bobbin and Thread was born
- A Sewing Alteration and Repair Service with a broad scope of garments. A simple delivery service with a FREE delivery area and future plans of teaching simple sewing classes to all ages
I cater to my customer's wants by providing services that make a house into a home, and make themselves and their families feel more presentable (in garments that fit and/or are unique). I do the work and they reap the benefits.
Financially there is the need to repair items rather than replace, and economics aside, there is the emerging ideal that it is a sensible and conscious choice to repurpose and alter garments - give old a new lease on life.
Do you find yourself in a tangle of textiles, not knowing if a garment can be fixed or revamped? Then I invite you to contact me to discuss your material woes.
